Ladybug

I found a ladybug in my bathroom. I thought it was dead so I took some photos with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 camera. To my surprise, it started moving after I finished my photos. I think it is a defense mechanism to "play dead" because as soon as I handled the ladybug, it would tuck its legs in and became motionless. The absence of noise and my presence did not trigger movement. It would stay that way for some time before moving again.

I do not currently have a macro lens so I used my Lumix G Vario 14-42mm zoom lens and positioned the camera as close as would be allowed by the minimum focus distance of the lens. The video was taken with normal indoor lighting at night. The zoom lens was set at 42mm focal length with f/5.6 aperture, 1/30 shutter speed and ISO 3200. The following video was produced using CyberLink PowerDirector 14 Ultra.

To allow a larger view of the ladybug on non-4K UHD monitors, I cropped the above 4K UHD video (3840x2160) to 1080p resolution (1920x1080). CyberLink PowerDirector 14 Ultra has a crop function but without a way to specify the 1920x1080 needed to perfectly align with the 1080p resolution of the resulting video. I used FFMPEG to do the precise crop to produce the following video.
