Toronto Waterfront
It was a gorgeous Autumn day with temperature high of 19C. With two 64GB memory cards and three camera batteries, I was ready for a photo shoot road trip. I made my way to Lake Ontario to capture the sights at the Toronto waterfront spanning from Bay Street to Bathurst Street with particular attention to the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and the Toronto Music Garden.
I like to watch planes land and take off and it was a good opportunity to try out video shots. The Toronto Music Garden is always a place I like to visit, whether to take in the beauty of the garden or to watch a musical performance. I watched the Cecilia String Quartet perform in the Toronto Music Garden in 2009. I was also there in 2014 for a performance by the Lafayette String Quartet.
Pictures were shot in 4592x2584 resolution and video segments were shot in 4K UHD using my Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 mirrorless camera with the Lumix G Vario 14-42mm and Lumix G X Vario 35-100mm lenses. Here is a video to present the pictures and video segments.
Video editing and creation was done in Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum (trial program) which is fairly robust and reasonably easy to learn & use. Biggest disappointment - this software does not support Nvidia Maxwell architecture GPUs (I have the GTX 970). CPU rendering with my 2 cores (4 threads) takes a long time to produce the final video. The above 14-minute video took 1hr53min to render. 4K UHD video processing requires much more computing power than for 1080p.
